"Ces rouleaux sont tres beaux!" my Aunt Matilda said, as she entered Rosa Bonheur's tea room. Rosa, a French realist-style artist, met my aunt at a ball when she was in France in 1884 when they bonded over conversations on their mutual love of animals. My aunt was shocked that a realist artist would have scrolls of such a whimsical design on display in her tea room. The Zoe Wall Scroll struck her immediately! Responding to my aunt's initial reaction she said, "Oh, those. They are made by a friend of mine. I can give you these. She will always create more for me." She left that day with a lifelong friend and four beloved scrolls!
The Zoe Wall Scroll measures 18"x12".
