Le Noir — The Pocket Raven
There are certain objects one does not purchase so much as inherit from fate.
Lenore is one of them.
Cast in solid black iron and standing scarcely two inches tall, this small raven possesses the sort of quiet authority usually reserved for creatures perched upon ancient manuscripts or the shoulders of men who have spent altogether too much time translating forbidden texts by candlelight.
One imagines him discovered in a cluttered curiosity shop tucked behind a rain-soaked alley in Victorian London. Dust upon the shelves. Clockwork humming somewhere behind the walls. A proprietor with silver spectacles insisting, in hushed tones, that the raven must never be placed facing the bed.
Naturally, one ignores such warnings.
A splendid companion for a writing desk, bookshelf, apothecary cabinet, or beside the collected works of Poe. Heavy for his size and delightfully ominous, Le Noir serves admirably as a paperweight, desk guardian, or silent witness to questionable decisions.
